Meet Kieran

10 weeks in.

22lbs down.

And as you can see, physique is completely different.

But tbh, that’s just the physical which is only 1 piece of the puzzle.

Kieran was already training a couple of times a week in the gym but not getting the most from what he was doing.

His training quality has transformed - we went through an initial structural balance and tempo focused phase and have progressed into more strength focused work since then.

His knee pain has drastically improved through structured training and progressive exercise selection.

He’s now lifting heavier with better technique than he ever was and able to push himself each session.

His fitness and recovery for soccer has improved.

His diet is more consistent which is allowing him to fuel his training and busy days.

His sleep routine has significantly improved. It’s obviously never going to be perfect with 2 young kids but it doesn’t mean you can’t make improvements!

This has helped manage his recovery, daily energy and appetite.

One of (if the not the biggest) improvement has been his ability to manage stress..

This was a major factor in him not being consistent with his diet, training and having poor sleep.

Through a combination of everything above, his ability to manage and respond to stress has greatly improved.

We have been working to change his perception and throught process to stress. This is where mindset coaching is key.

We’ve had a very busy couple of weeks which previously would have thrown him for a loop but this time we’ve managed it all and still been able to make progress.

We aren’t reaching for food as a coping mechanism.

And as I said to him, that is a major indicator of long term changes.

We are using a diet break this week to drop any diet induced fatigue, then we continue to push towards the next goal. :)

Pretty crazy right?

You know what’s just as crazy…

There’s not much difference in weight between these 2 photos.

About 2lbs.

This is why you can’t just focus on the scales.

Even more so if you are a smaller female who’s not overweight.

As I explain to my clients who are in this position.

You don’t have a huge amount of weight to lose.

You will likely live between 2 weight ranges - your min and maximum.

The goal is to look better at each weight over time.

By having a little more muscle and less fat. (Toning as you might call it)

As you can see here, we’ve been able to increase her calories a lot over time.

How have we done this?

>Get strong and hard training - 80kg squats / 170kg hip thrusts / 190kg leg presses / 17.5 kg presses…

>Structured phases - We spent lots of time not dieting.

>EAT!!! Actually eating more food consistently.

>Time - the one you don’t want to hear. This takes time there’s no shortcut to it.

And why you need to make it a lifestyle.

This has allowed us to go through periods of time taking a relaxed approach with nutrition and enjoying social events, holidays etc…

Manage a full time job and studying for a PHD.

While still continuing to make improvements.

When I talk about the Future Fitness Lifestyle this is a perfect example of what I’m talking about.

And what you can achieve if you commit to it!
